Recharge Your Spark 2025: The Event Before THE Event Shines Again
On the morning before All Energy Australia 2025 officially kicked off, more than 100 women and supporters from across the renewable energy industry gathered at Metropolis Events in Melbourne for Recharge Your Spark, AWISE’s flagship networking and leadership event.
Set against the backdrop of Melbourne’s skyline at the spectacular Metropolis venue on Southbank, the event brought together installers, manufacturers, engineers, marketers, founders, executives, students and industry partners for a morning focused on connection, conversation and community ahead of one of the busiest weeks on the renewable energy calendar.
This year’s event featured a hands-on AI training session delivered by Red Marble AI, exploring how artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the way businesses communicate, market, operate and work. The session sparked plenty of discussion throughout the room and gave attendees practical insight into how these tools are beginning to shape the future of both the renewable energy sector and the broader business landscape.
One of the standout moments of the morning was The Great Debate, where Maaike Gobels, Matt Gye, Harry Chami and Charlie Caruso tackled the question: if they were handed $10 billion to accelerate the clean energy transition, how would they spend it?
The discussion was thoughtful, entertaining and refreshingly candid, covering everything from grid infrastructure and electrification to manufacturing, skills shortages, consumer adoption and policy settings. It also brought plenty of energy and humour into the room, which perfectly matched the atmosphere of the event overall.
Alongside the formal sessions, Recharge Your Spark gave attendees the opportunity to reconnect with industry friends, meet new people and continue building the relationships that make the renewable energy sector feel so collaborative and connected. It was particularly wonderful to welcome many new women into the AWISE community this year, with first-time attendees making up a significant part of the room.
Guests also enjoyed a beautiful brunch service and received custom signature cookies to take home, adding to the warm and celebratory feel of the morning.
Events like Recharge Your Spark simply would not happen without strong industry support, and AWISE would like to sincerely thank major sponsors Solar Juice and AIKO for helping bring the event to life. Their backing allowed the event to continue growing and created the opportunity for more women across the sector to come together in a meaningful way ahead of All Energy Australia.
Most importantly, the event once again reinforced how valuable these spaces are for the industry. In a sector that moves incredibly quickly, taking a few hours to reconnect, share ideas, welcome new people and genuinely enjoy each other’s company remains incredibly important.
AWISE would like to thank everyone who attended Recharge Your Spark 2025 and helped make it such a memorable and energising way to begin a huge week for the renewable energy industry.
